Mrs. Jane Webster, widow of Hugh J. Webster, passed away last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.M. Bishop. Since her husband's death, Mrs. Webster has been living with a son at Waynetown, but about the first of December she came to this city for a visit. She was taken ill a few days later and for a week or so had been very low, pneumonia having developed. The deceased was in her 81st year and had been a resident of this county for more than 50 yeaers. She was born June 18, 1822 in NY city but at an early day her parents emigrated to Ohio. She was united in marriage there in 1841 to Hugh J. Webster and a few years later they came to this county and settled near Shannondale. They afterward moved to Ladoga and were living there in 1860 when Mr. Webster was elected county recorder. Mr. Webster's latter years were spent at Waynetown. Of a family of six children four survive, William H, Charles and Mrs. Ida Bishop, of this city and Albert Webster of Waynetown. The youngest daughter, Mrs. Hudson died in Colorado about ayear ago. Mrs. Webster has two sisters living, Mrs. Dr. Shannon of Shannondale and Mrs. T.H. Glenn of Portland, Oregon. The deceased was a lifelong member of the ME Church and enjoyed the love and esteem of her friends and neighbors to a high degree. The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday.
